Stuck in the morning rain at MRT exit

Noticed that when it's raining outside, people automatically halted at the ground exit where the escalator brings more commuters to pack up the tiny area.

No need for a genious to see how easily things can go dangerously wrong.

What was more interesting was the message announced by the MRT avoids using words like 'danger', 'accident', or other alarming terms.

Working in a leading hospital, I can't help but thinking that, in similar circumstances, what is more crucial between keeping the crowd from panicking while letting the escalator constantly conveying them to deathrow alongside with elderlies, school kids, boy scouts, pregnants, etc; or warning them ahead using more alarming terms so the crowd senses the danger?
